Bam Boozle and the horn swogglers play a slow laid-back minor blues in the jazz style for those summer evenings. Bam on piano, Ruth Tempet on trumpet, Boa Dubless on double bass, Art Guthie on guitar and Ed Thrums on drums (Bam & Ruth made a few changes 3/7/2011).
duet for piano and violin
… played here by Bam and Ruth. A slow piece, sometimes plaintive, sometimes less so, inspired in part by distant memories of hearing Charlie Chaplin’s soundtracks.
threnody for a friend
for piano and violin. Here is a the rough score for piano & violin.
blues from beyond the closed door
a blues shuffle in D minor with Art Guthie on guitar, Boa Dubless on bass, Ed Thrums on drums and Bam Boozle on the rhodes. Messy jamming in the studio while the other horn swogglers went out for doughnuts.
monsters…
… big, medium and small rattling around in your head, all friendly but very noisy.
mufflewuffle
a laid back hybrid number with jazz and classical themes played on trumpet and vibes over a strong rhythm, underplayed by French horns, pads and other strange noises (added a new trumpet part 20/05/09).
a mumblin’ an’ a bumblin’
A fairly hypnotic (i.e. repetitive) and laid back groove in a jazz style with rhodes, double bass, drums, flute and synths.
uno
a first offering from Bam Boozle and the horn swogglers. A quirky little number, one might say, with piano, accordion, trombone, violin, double bass, glockenspiel and percussion.
reverie
a very short piece submitted for the following request (not accepted I hasten to add).
Project Name: TV Commercial
Project type: Advertisement
Description: A large advertising agency is looking for a dreamy, soft track that will be used with an ad for cosmetics. The melody should be very engaging, soft and inspirational for women.
the dark at the end of the tunnel
hmmm this sounds suspiciously like jazz-fusion to me with some latin flavours thrown in. Bam, Art, Ed, Boa and Ruth messing about in the hall. Art was trying out his new slide too.
